Geek Word of the Week: Speculative Fiction

Speculative Fiction: noun 1. A broad genre including science fiction, fantasy, horror, and supernatural fiction. 2. Term believed to have been invented by Robert Heinlein as an alternative to “science fiction.”

 

Often Geek snobs wishing to distance themselves from the term “science fiction” utilize Speculative Fiction.
